Who are you mad at? Let it go…

Starting my vacation, a long one for me that I have never taken this much time before. A trip to the beach, some home improvements and then back to the beach to visit a friend. Not too many times in your life, well for me anyway do you have God knocking on your heart to get up and do something.

This morning I got a clear message that I needed to get up to write what I am typing here. This message is one of an offering / olive branch to people in general. This message is for anyone who lives and works with people. You don’t have to be a Christian.

The Golden Rule – Mathew 7:12, 7:13 & 7:14
12  So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
13  Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.
14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

When I was growing up, the Golden Rule was the first real guide and measurement I was exposed to. It spoke directly to me and who I am. I am not always able to succeed and abide by it, unfortunately.

If I have failed you in this way, please accept my apology let me know I would like to make it right. I try to teach my girls this message and explain to them that we need to be bridge builders. There are plenty of people yesterday, today and tomorrow that burn bridges. Sometimes, I see they look back and take pride in it what they have done. The destruction to others, the seeds of hate that are planted and worse yet, the damage to themselves is somewhat irreparable.

If you are one of these I ask you take a step back and think about your actions. You can be redeemed and you can be forgiven but a change in your heart will be needed.

You don’t have to be perfect… the truth is NONE of us are and our challenge is to try to live up to a higher standard. If you are a Christian I would say the perfect person is Jesus, if you are not you can still share in this thought. The United States was founded on Christian principals which has served us well. While no nation, its people are perfect the recognition of a higher power that holds us accountable is critical. We hold each other accountable based on these principals.

I hope this brings a message to someone who needs it… I know I do everyday.
