Subaru OEM LED Puddle Lights

When we first purchased my wife’s car, I was looking for this option to be installed on our new Subaru Tribeca, “LED puddle lights”. I don’t know if Subaru was the first, but they were one of the first major manufactures to embrace puddle lights and LED technology. A recall ensued not too long after, as they found an issue with moisture (specifically in the North East) could get into the harness and cause a fire. That issue was addressed with a fuse – but it may have put a slower adaption rate with that news.

So back to our story, a couple of cars we looked at had this option but it was rather expensive and we elected to pass. Then I ran across a price from a Tribeca forum that I was happy with and purchased them.

They are also available on Amazon:

Using my handy iPhone 6 and tripod I captured this video of the installation. My video editing software is made by a company called MovAvi. I have been using their Movavi Screen Capture Studio 8 software. It is about as simple as it gets. It contains the ability to do screen captures, tweak video, add text banners, add videos together etc.

In this case, for installing the LED Puddle Lights I did not modify the video (as my point in my blog is to not tweak video or images overall). If I do modify them I will let you know in the post.

As you can see, you can do many things with this software. In the past, I have used software for customers to capture various screen shots to show them how to edit their sites in WordPress.

Am I not 100% happy with the video and how it turned out? It can always be better – the question is to what end will you spend time to edit and update video. If it is tips and tricks – DIY video maybe it is not as important.

Here is the installation video:

I hope this can give you some simple ideas for your blog and or web site!

Next up is / was the interior lights (PUTCO) very happy with them too!

About this post: this post was created using my iPhone 6 in the WordPress app. Photos/Video was taken from my iPhone. I used WordPress to modify the images down to a more consumable size. See this post to learn how to use WordPress to modify image sizes.
