Register Your Business Online! Part 2 (Bing Tracking)
A short post today, a follow up on the discussion (Register Your Business Online! Part 2 – Bing Places for Business). I wrote about Bing and the services similar to Google for adding your company to their business (Map) listing. It just so happens, today the account setup for my sister site was updated and I got this email.
Your business listing on Bing is getting noticed. Sign-in to your Bing Places account to see how many potential customers saw your business listing recently. You can also compare how similar businesses in your area are doing.

If you have created and setup your account, validated it with the PIN sent to you via snail mail, then grab your ID and log in. Once there, you will see that Bing gives you very useful information in two sections for your business listing.
- The published content from your business listing. Name, Images, Map, Address, Phone, website address, hours and social contacts.
- The results overall for your business listing vs. other listings in the area. In this case, there are not many businesses in this zip code so their won’t be a huge number of searches but you get the point here.
In the listing performance you can clearly see that this listing is out performing the average (keep in mind this is targeting Hair Salons) in this specific Zip code. Also note, this is pure organic traffic and not “Paid” traffic (running campaigns), so overall the information on the listing is working for the target audience.
The more you add photos, hours, description and important information like what Holidays you are open it makes your listing more powerful. This will not only attracts more traffic to your web site but also your physical store.
